Termination of Service by School
Angel
Care Montessori reserves the right to reevaluate any child’s
continued participation in the program who has special needs that
cannot best be met by the program or that may be detrimental to the
health or progress of the other children. The school may, under these
circumstances, request withdrawal of the child from the program. The
school will recommend suitable alternatives that may better meet the
child’s needs. Unless the child is an immediate danger to himself
or to others, two weeks’ notice will be given should the Angel
Care Montessori request withdrawal of the child from the program. [see below under 'termination policy' for more detail]
Tuition monies paid is not refunded in the case of withdrawal or
dismissal and any outstanding tuition is still due.
If any outstanding payment is past due for a period of one week, your
child will not be allowed to be dropped off into the program until
payment is made and dismissal proceedings may begin.
All children must be completely toilet-trained and self-sufficient in
taking care of their own toileting needs in order to attend the
preprimary class. In the event that a child starts the program and is
not toilet trained the school will ask that the child remain home until
successfully having become toilet trained. Tuition monies paid is not
refunded in the case of a child who is not fully potty trained and any
outstanding tuition is still due.
Angel Care Montessori reserves the right to cancel a class should there not be sufficient interest or enrollment in any of the class programming as scheduled. If a class is canceled we will give you the option of either switching into another class or a refund.
Withdrawal Policy
No refund or credits will be given for withdrawal from the program.
Suspension Policy
A child may be suspended from the program if that child exhibits repeated or patterned behavior that puts him or herself, another child or teacher at risk.
Parents will be notified of behavior and staff will work with parents to decrease behavior prior to suspension.
If attempts to decrease behavior fail, parents will be informed. A timely, yet planned two-three day up to a ten day "time off" may occur.
Some behaviors that warrant an immediate "time off" may include but are not limited to: hitting, biting, kicking, uncontrolled running in the classroom and disruption of the classroom through unacceptable social behaviors such as yelling, swearing, throwing, and not respecting the work of other children.
Termination Policy
A child may be terminated from the program if that child exhibits repeated or patterned behavior that puts him or herself, another child or teacher at risk if such behavior shows no sign of decreasing, for nonpayment of tuition, and/or not adhering to the policies of the Montessori program.
Parents will be notified in writing and all attempts will be made to resolve the issues prior to termination.
If termination is then indicated, parents will be given written documentation from the Director and provided with referrals to other services. The child will be prepared for termination consistent with his/her ability to understand.
